Frequently Asked Questions


Which ORI should I use if I’m a school volunteer?

Volunteers in public schools must use VDOEPUBS3. Each volunteer program has its own ORI, so confirm with the school or district before scheduling.


I’m a contractor or vendor for a school — which ORI applies?

Contractors and vendors for public schools use EDOEPUBS2. Using the wrong ORI may cause delays or rejection of your clearance.


Which ORI applies for general school employees?

School district employees who are not teachers use EDOEPUBS0. This covers non-instructional staff but is separate from certification requirements.


I’m applying for teacher certification. Which ORI do I use?

Teacher certification applicants must use EDOEPUBS1. This ORI is specific to certification through the Florida Department of Education.


What if I work with or own a private school?

Private school owners/operators use EDOEPRIV1.

Employees, contractors, and vendors at private schools use EDOEPRIV0.

Volunteers in private schools use VDOEPRIV3.


Can I reuse one ORI for multiple roles?

No. ORIs are specific to the role or program. For example, a volunteer ORI cannot be used for employment or certification. Always confirm with the requesting agency.
