 Frequently Asked Questions

Do Unarmed Security Officers (Class D) need an FDLE Level 2 background check?
Yes. Both Class D (unarmed) and Class G (armed) officers must complete a fingerprint-based FDLE Level 2 background check.

Does everyone using ORI FL923130Z require Level 2 screening?
Yes. All license types under Chapter 493 tied to ORI FL923130Z must submit fingerprints for FDLE and FBI criminal history checks.

What should I bring to my Live Scan appointment?
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and your correct ORI (FL923130Z). If your licensing agency provided an OCA number or other codes, have those ready too.

Can I reuse fingerprints from another ORI?
No. Fingerprints are routed by ORI. Using the wrong ORI can delay your application or cause it to be rejected.

How fast are results?
Most results are returned quickly once FDLE receives them. The average turnaround time is 24 to 72 hours after submission to FDLE.  Timing depends on FDLE, FBI, and FDACS review.

Should I confirm the ORI before I get printed?
Yes. Always confirm the ORI with your employer or licensing agency before scheduling to avoid delays.
